Quick Tip: Follow up with your prospects!

If you are like me, you consider any leads that are sent your way to be gold.  In the midst of even the most competitive of markets, a lead sent from someone can start out as a simple job.  Over time however, it can extrapolate out to several other leads and countless other jobs.  It is truly an exciting and potentially profitable domino effect to be a part of.  For many though, that never happens.

Why?

Here is how far too many businesses typically handle their leads:

Prospect:  “I’m looking for product x that your company offers.”
You:  “We offer product x, and it is among the most competitively priced on the market!”
Prospect:  “Ok, thank you.  I will think about it.”
You:  “Looking forward to hearing from you again!”

For many, this is where it ends.  For those who are privy to the knowledge that you MUST keep your name in front of your prospects, they will call or email the prospect until they get a “yes” or a “no”.  Of course, you don’t want to be annoying, but you do want your name to be the first that comes to their minds when they are thinking about product x.
